They say the only constant is change, but usually “they” are saying it when something happens that you didn’t want to happen. So “they” provide almost no comfort on days like today, when we close the doors to our beloved Greenwich Village studio after tonight’s classes.
The news came with great sadness. For many of us, the Village studio was “home.” Sure, Sixth Avenue is loud and Gobo’s habit of playing loud (sometimes disco!) music during savasana was not exactly conducive to meditation and the plumbing had the nasty habit of springing creative leaks, but who didn’t love the patio during warm weather and the camaraderie of the students who brought the place to life?
But we move forward, as we always do when the economy or other outside forces knock us off our path. We hope you join us for classes at Penn Station/Chelsea or in Soho. We will have a new schedule for those studios starting in January, with the same dedicated teachers and fantastic atmosphere and of course, Bikram Yoga!
We have great hopes that 2011 will bring new beginnings and more positive business news. Thank you for being part of our family and we hope a location shift does nothing to harm that bond. “Home,” after all, is where our hearts are.
Consider bringing your hearts and practice to Penn Station/Chelsea at 150 W. 30th St., near Seventh Ave. or Soho at 148 Spring St., btw W. Broadway and Wooster.
