Posture video: Cobra pose

The newest in our posture video series: Bhujangasana or cobra pose, as explained by Bikram Yoga Manhattan director Raffael Pacitti and demonstrated by Paola Arinci.

It’s a short posture, right at the start of the spine-strengthening series, but it’s a blockbuster: aimed at the often-troublesome lower back. Pacitti explains why strengthening those muscles helps not only with back pain, but reinvigorating the nervous system and the organs of the lower body.

    I love cobra pose! My back always feels SO much better after I do it. There are ways of doing cobra to get the ultimate stretch. I found Leeann Carey has a great free yoga video on this that your readers would like:
